We’ve been pleased to partner with the new Estover Energy Speyside combined heat and power plant to provide low carbon steam and electricity for The Macallan distillery.
In 2019, 60% of the steam used in the distillery was sourced from Estover and our aim is to increase this to 80% by the end of 2021. The heat from the stills is repurposed to heat The Macallan Visitor Experience.
The 12MWe plant provides low carbon electricity to the national grid and steam to The Macallan distillery, as well as providing enough power for more than 20,000 homes.
